Yes. A referral from your family physician, nurse practitioner or a walk-in clinic is required for an OHIP-covered urology consultation in Ontario. Once we receive the referral by fax, our office contacts you to book an appointment.

Mississauga Urology Associates is at 101 Queensway W, Suite 400, Mississauga, Ontario L5B 2V2, beside Trillium Health Partners - Mississauga Hospital. Paid parking is available in the building parking garage.

OHIP covers urology consultations, cystoscopy, kidney stone treatment such as ureteroscopy and PCNL, BPH surgery including TURP and GreenLight laser therapy, and the diagnosis and management of genitourinary cancers. Rezum, NanoKnife IRE focal therapy and some men’s health treatments are offered privately.

NanoKnife IRE (irreversible electroporation) is a non-thermal focal therapy for localized prostate cancer. Short electrical pulses destroy cancer cells while preserving nearby nerves, blood vessels and healthy tissue, and the treatment can be repeated if it is ever needed again.

Yes. Our urologists care for both women and men, including kidney stones, bladder control problems and urinary incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections, and genitourinary cancers. Men’s health services such as erectile dysfunction and low testosterone care are specific to men.

Ask your family physician to fax a referral to the urologist you would like to see. For private treatments such as NanoKnife IRE, Rezūm or private erectile dysfunction options, use the contact form linked from those treatment pages and our office will follow up.

A first urology consultation usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Bring your health card, a list of your current medications, and any recent imaging or lab results your family physician has sent.
